In the afternoon of March 22, Mayor Chen Rugui met with Shakhray, Vice-rector of Moscow State University and Chairman of Board of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University.
Chen Rugui said, under the concerted efforts by Chinese and Russian government and three cooperative parties, Shenzhen MSU-BIT University pushed ahead with different tasks smoothly; he hopes that it should take the advantages of both Moscow University and Beijing Institute of Technology, based on the economic needs of Shenzhen, doing its best to make a world-class, internationalized and comprehensive university with unique characteristics, accommodating to China-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and the initiative of “One Belt, One Road” policy, so as to become a model for bilateral cooperation in education and people-to-people exchanges.
Shakhray said, we’ll strive to develop the strengths of the cooperative parties and make the joint school a world-class scientific innovation base, nurturing high quality talents for China-Russian strategic partnership and regional social-economic development, and providing high-level academic achievements.
Pashkov, Consul General of Russian Consulate-General in Guangzhou, Deputy Mayor Gao Zimin, and li Tingzhong, Secretary General of Shenzhen Municipality, attended the meeting.
