Campus Infrastructure
Located on No. 1 International University Park Road, Longgang District, Shenzhen, Shenzhen MSU-BIT University covers an expansive 333,700 square meters. The campus was built with a significant investment of 2.043 billion yuan by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and was completed and inaugurated in July 2019.
The campus boasts a picturesque setting, with Qiu Shui Ling Mountain to the east, the Longkou Reservoir and Juzi Ling Reservoir to the west, and the Shenxian Ling Reservoir and Dayun Nature Park to the north. This natural landscape creates an exceptionally favorable environment. The surrounding road network is highly developed, offering convenient access to external transportation links. To the east, Long Xiang Avenue and Yanlong Avenue connect to the Shuiguan Expressway, while the Changshen Expressway to the south provides easy connections to Longgang Central City, Luohu, Futian, Longhua, Bao'an Airport, and Huizhou.
The campus layout is meticulously planned along two main landscape axes—north-south and east-west—forming distinct zones for teaching, residential living, sports, and natural scenery. A total of 21 distinct buildings comprise the campus, including the prominent main building, two laboratory buildings, and three teaching buildings, as well as the library, sports hall, student activity center, student dormitories, and faculty apartments.
The main building, a commanding presence at the heart of the central plaza, echoes the architecture of Moscow State University's main building, becoming an iconic symbol of the campus. Standing at an impressive 156 meters in height, the "Star of Shenzhen MSU-BIT" atop the main building signifies the campus's highest point. This star, measuring around five meters in width, consists of individual components weighing up to 6.8 tons. Its construction technology has been acknowledged with three national utility model patents, and its "Gothic-style steel structure spire installation construction technology" has been hailed as a leader within the nation.
The campus's architectural achievements have garnered more than 20 awards at the provincial and ministerial levels, including the prestigious 2020 China Construction Engineering Decoration Award, the top prize in the Excellent Engineering Survey and Design category of Guangdong Province, the Guangdong Province Construction Engineering Quality Award, and the esteemed "Zhongjian Cup" Gold Award for Quality Engineering.
The Student Activity Center received the 2020 International Architecture Award. Notably, the campus's comprehensive architectural quality was recognized in 2021 with the highest honor in engineering quality within the Chinese construction industry, The Luban Award.
