University Welcome Day

June 11, 2017 Joint Russian-Chinese university held the first Welcome day. More than 2 thousands of school students from 7 provinces and one municipality of China came to meet with the professors and teachers of Moscow University.

The MSU Rector Academician V.A. Sadovnichy welcomed guests via video message.

Prospective students and their parents discussed various issues and aspects of education with the representatives of the MSU faculties (namely, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Faculty of Materials Science). Experienced interpreters (alumni of Russian universities) were interpreting during the event. Prospective students and their parents had an opportunity to watch short videos about MSU and BIT history, scientific breakthroughs and main directions of development. `

Joint Russian-Chinese Shenzhen MSU-BIT University is the unique project on establishing modern world-class comprehensive university in the Guangdong province. Right now university is located in the temporary campus in Longgang district, Shenzhen, and it is built and completely equipped for a new Academic year 2017-2018. The permanent campus is in the process of building.

During the University Welcome Day prospective students also had an opportunity to register for the exams on June 12, 2017. The registration was going on until 10 p.m. In the first day of registration there were more than 500 applications for 117 places.

The delegation from Shenzhen Municipal People's Government headed by Vice-Mayor of Shenzhen Wu Yihuan and the delegation from the Embassy of Russian Federation in PRC headed by I.A. Pozdniakov visited campus on the Welcome Day. Many Russian and Chinese mass media participated in the event.

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University First Bachelor’s Entrance Exams

First entrance exams for Bachelor's degree programs were held on June 12, 2017. 566 candidates took part in the competition for 117 places.

To become the student of «Russian language and literature» program applicant had to pass the literature exam (121 prospective students participated).

To become a student of «Applied mathematics and computer science» program, «Chemistry, physics and mechanics of materials» program and «Economics» program applicant had to pass the mathematics exam (445 prospective students participated).

All prospective students with the lack of knowledge of Russian language had to participate in the Russian language ability test, as the first year of their studies will be dedicated to the intensive course of Russian language.

Professional examiners and assessors from Moscow State University conducted the entrance examinations with the help of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University employees.

Applicants had an opportunity to register for exams from 6.30 a.m. until the very beginning of exams at 8.00 a.m. Mathematics and literature exams were conducted in the first half of the day, Russian language ability test – after lunch break. For those who have passed the morning exams earlier, University organized special zones in the library and hallway for students to rest and prepare for the ability test. Prospective students and their parents had lunch in the university canteen; during the lunch break they also had an opportunity to explore the temporary campus of the University.
