Faculty of Engineering
Established in 2020, the Faculty of Engineering has formed five disciplinary teams in Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Engineering, Information Security and Communication Engineering, Integrated Circuits and Electronic Engineering, and Fundamental Science and Engineering, which collectively support three undergraduate programs: Electronic and Computer Engineering, Intelligent Perception Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence, with a current enrollment of 810 undergraduate students.
The faculty comprises 65 full-time academic staff, all graduates from prestigious domestic and international universities. Among them are three academicians dual-appointed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering as well as the Canadian Academy of Natural Sciences and Engineering, along with three national-level talents, two provincial-level talents, and 16 municipal/district-level talents. Faculty members have undertaken over 50 national, provincial, and municipal research projects.
The university has established the Advanced Interdisciplinary Technologies Research Institute and Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, housing the Guangdong Key Laboratory of Intelligent Perception and Computing, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory for Affective Computing and Pervasive Intelligence, as well as the Intelligent Unmanned Systems Laboratory and the Swarm Intelligence International Innovation Laboratory. These platforms provide students with abundant research resources and innovation opportunities, significantly bolstering the faculty's disciplinary development and professional education.
The Faculty maintains specialized laboratories including the Electronics and Information Technology Innovation Lab, University Physics Lab, Electrical Engineering Lab, and Computer Teaching Lab. It has also actively collaborated with leading enterprises such as China Electronics Corporation, Tencent Cloud, Shenzhen Kaihong, and Hikvision to establish internship and practice bases, enhancing students' practical and innovative competencies.
