From May 29 to 30, “China and Russia: Cooperation in a New Era” China-Russia Think-tank Forum(2018)kicked off in Beijing. The forum was jointly hosted by Chinese Academy Social Sciences (CASS) and Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), and carried out by Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Russian Academy of Social Sciences and China-Russia Strategic Partnership Think-tank of CASS. Former state councilor of State Council of the PRC, China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development Chairman, Dai Bingguo, and Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs (1998–2004) and RIAC President, Igor Ivanov attended the forum and gave a speech. Other 350 leading representatives of state authorities, business and cultural circles, and the academic community of Russia and China were also present at the forum.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of our school, Shakhray attended this forum and gave a report of “Connection of China-Russia Secondary and Higher Education with Moscow State University”, and introduced the successful experience of the establishment of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University. Shakhray pointed out that the establishment of this joint university provided a great platform, which is full of potential opportunities, for deepening cultural cooperation between the two countries. Shenzhen MSU-BIT University is not only a symbol of China-Russia cooperation, but also a “development circle”, around which aggregates new connections, new thinking, and new direction. Shenzhen MSU-BIT University nurtures specialists for global initiatives such as “One Belt, One Road” and Eurasian Economic Union.
