Good news! Two scholars from SMBU were selected into Elsevier's 2024 "China's Highly Cited Scholars" list

On March 25, Elsevier officially released the 2024 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list. The 2024 "Chinese Highly Cited Scholars" has a total of 6,388 people on the list, from 547 universities, enterprises and Research Institutions, covering 83 first-level disciplines in 10 disciplines of the Ministry of Education. Professor Qin Qinghua, Dean of Institute for Advanced Cross-Disciplinary Research and Technology of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, and Iqbal Muhammad Farrukh, Senior Lecturer of Department of Economics, were successfully shortlisted for the list in the fields of engineering-mechanics and management-management science and engineering respectively.

It is reported that Elsevier's "China Highly Cited Scholars" list uses Scopus, the world's authoritative citation and index database, as the statistical source of Chinese scholars' scientific research achievements, and adopts the method developed by Shanghai Ruanke Education Information Consulting Co., Ltd. By 2025, It is the eleventh release jointly conducted by the two parties, and has attracted great attention from many media and scholars at home and abroad. Elsevier has provided data support and technical realization for the list. Profiles of Selected Scholars:

Qin Qinghua, Professor of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Dean of Institute for Advanced Cross-Disciplinary Research and Technology, is currently engaged in the design and performance research of structural materials and functional materials. Obtained a master's degree and a doctorate degree in mechanics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and stayed in Huazhong University of Science and Technology to engage in teaching and scientific research after graduation. Received the DAAD/K. C. Wong Research Fund in 1994 and conducted 9 months of scientific research at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. From 1995 to 1997, he carried out postdoctoral research work at Tsinghua University. In 1997, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II fellowship to conduct research at the University of Sydney, and in 1998 she was awarded the J. G. Russell Prize of the Australian Academy of Sciences. In 2002, he was awarded the Professor Fund of the Australian Research Council and presided over a number of Australian national general funds. From 2006 to 2021, he was a professor at the Australian National University. In 2007, he was selected as a senior member of the Australian Institute of Engineers. From 2009 to 2021, he served as the Australian National University Engineering Research Center The leader of the material processing and manufacturing group and the academic leader, and from 2011 to 2013, he served as the deputy dean of the School of Engineering of the Australian National University. Since 2016, he has been listed as an Elsevier "China Highly Cited Scholar". Iqbal Muhammad Farrukh, Ph.D. in management, is currently a senior lecturer in Department of Economics at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University. Research covers entrepreneurship, industrial-organizational psychology and sustainable business practices, with a particular focus on promoting environmental responsibility in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Has published more than 40 papers in SSCI-indexed journals, most of them as first authors, with a lasting impact on the research field. Wrote a case study for Harvard Business Publishing that effectively connect academic theory to real-world business challenges. In addition to research and teaching contributions, he is an Associate Editor of Ethics, Environment, and Responsibility in Business and Vision: A Business Perspective Journal, as well as a Contributing Editor for several journals.
