Two programs in Shenzhen MSU-BIT University (SMBU) recommended as the first-class undergraduate programs of national level (10000-10000 Plan).

Recently, two programs at SMBU, namely Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and Philology (Russian Language and Literature), have been included in the shortlist of first-class national undergraduate programs (10000-10000 Plan) by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province.

Established by Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, Beijing Institute of Technology and Lomonosov Moscow State University, SMBU is a Chinese-foreign cooperative university agreed by the heads of state of China and Russia.

SMBU strives to be a world-class research university with unique strengths in its discipline areas and global perspective. It is also tasked with the lofty mandate of cultivating talents for the Belt and Road Initiative and facilitating elite education and high-level technological innovation, providing innovative personnel and top-notch academic achievements for China-Russia strategic cooperation and economic and social development of the region.

The two programs recommended by Guangdong Province are among the first batch of undergraduate majors initiated in 2017, which are also top programs in Lomonosov Moscow State University. The above two programs enjoy the 24th and 46th place in the 2018 QS global university ranking respectively.

As one of the founding partners, Lomonosov Moscow State University has sent a group of eminent teachers to SMBU, including an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ilin Alexander and a Russian language teacher Kir Zhanova Svetlana who has won the title of “Elite Teacher of Guangdong”.
