From May 19 to 20, MSU-BIT University was invited to attend the first Russia-China Forum held in Khabarovsk, Russia, in order to deepen its cooperation with Khabarovskiy Kray in the field of education and science, introduce its school-running characteristics and results and further enhance its international influence.
The Russia-China Forum is an important China-Russia dialogue platform, with the purpose to promote the cooperation of the two countries in the fields of economy, technology, culture and humanity, create new opportunities for the joint development of Russian Far East and China, and enhance the direct contact between the entrepreneurs and the governments of the two countries. The forum was hosted by the Khabarovskiy Kray government under the support of Russian Federal President Representative Office in Far Eastern Federal District, Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, Russian Export Center and other organizations.
The MSU-BIT University delegation was led by the Vice-president Assistant Wan Meina, accompanied by the Russian Center Associate Professor Anna Perkova and other school office personnel. In the forenoon on May 19, Wan Meina was invited to attend the “Industrial Park: Russia-China Cooperation Platform” forum and make a speech titled Technology Leading the Future, Innovation Serving the Entity. In the speech, she introduced the implementation of industry-university-research cooperation of MSU-BIT University and its scientific and technological achievements. More than 200 Chinese and Russian entrepreneurs listened to the speech and gave overwhelming response. After the meeting, the Chinese entrepreneurs in the Russian Industrial Park said that they would eagerly look forward to the employment of MSU-BIT University graduates in cooperative enterprises.
In the afternoon, the delegation attended the forum plenary meeting titled “Russia-China: Striving for Common Prosperity” to share the development history of MSU-BIT University to participants.
In the forenoon on May 20, the delegation and the First Chairman Sergey Abramov of the Khabarovskiy Kray government held a meeting. On the meeting, both parties had an extensive discussion about signing the letter of intent on cooperation in science and education and reached an agreement on the future cooperation direction.
In the afternoon on the same day, Wan Meina was invited to attend the sub-forum organized by Vneshtorgbank (VTB) and make a speech titled Promoting the China-Russia Cooperation, Establishing the First-Class University. In the speech, she introduced the teachers, talent cultivation, research innovation and university-industry cooperation of MSU-BIT University and had a discussion about the cooperation with the VTB representatives. The Russian party said that they would provide necessary assistance while MSU-BIT University opening account in the VTB Branch in Shanghai.
This visit effectively promoted the extensive cooperation of MSU-BIT University with the Khabarovskiy Kray government in the fields of education and scientific research and laid a sound foundation for improving the international influence of the university and expanding the enrollment publicity and graduate employment channels.
