Recently, Professor Zhan Zhang of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University was invited to serve as the reviewer for the Chinese edition of Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory (Russian title: «Без права забыть. Память о 80-летии Победы в Великой Отечественной войне»). The book has been officially published in Russia, marking another important achievement in Sino-Russian collaboration in the field of historical and cultural commemoration. The Chinese edition will provide readers with an authoritative text for a more accurate and in-depth understanding of the history of the Great Patriotic War.

The book, a major documentary album released by Russia to mark the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, was jointly compiled by the Russian Federal Archival Agency, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the State Historical Museum, and other institutions. It features a rich collection of precious archival documents, historical photographs, audiovisual materials, and cultural artifacts. Systematically tracing the war from its outbreak to ultimate victory, it covers key historical stages such as The Invasion of the Soviet Union, The Siege of Leningrad, The Partisan Movement, The Battle of Stalingrad, The Liberation of Europe, and The Battle of Berlin. The work carries exceptional academic, historical, and educational value. In addition to presenting vital documents such as Marshal Zhukov’s speech manuscripts, maps of Operation Barbarossa, and battle orders from Stalingrad, the book also includes extensive first-hand sources reflecting civilian life, cultural creation, and international cooperation during the war. Together, these materials vividly reconstruct the Soviet people’s heroic resistance and selfless sacrifices.

Shenzhen MSU-BIT University has long placed great emphasis on international academic exchange and cultural dissemination. The invitation extended to its faculty member to contribute to the review of such a significant international historical publication not only reflects strong recognition of individual academic expertise but also underscores the university’s growing influence in Sino-Russian cultural collaboration. The university will continue to support its faculty in participating in international academic and cultural projects, contributing to the mutual learning of civilizations and the advancement of the vision of a shared future for humanity.
