Recently, internationally renowned academic journals extended editorial board invitations to faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, recognizing the university’s academic excellence and growing global influence in the interdisciplinary frontiers of multimedia security, AI security, and healthcare technology.
The prestigious journal IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (IEEE T-IFS)—a CCF Class A recommended journal and a Q1 TOP journal under the Chinese Academy of Sciences—has invited Shunquan Tan and Changsheng Chen, Professors of the Faculty of Engineering, to serve as Associate Editors. They will be responsible for handling manuscripts in the areas of multimedia forensics, security detection, and AI-based content authentication. IEEE T-IFS is one of the world’s leading journals in information security, enjoying wide recognition and strong academic reputation.

Meanwhile, IEEE Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (IEEE TCBB), a CCF Class B recommended journal and a highly influential international journal in bioinformatics, officially invited Le Ouyang, Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, to serve as an Associate Editor, focusing on manuscripts related to bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and healthcare.

Professor Shunquan Tan has long been dedicated to research in multimedia forensics, deepfake detection, and cybersecurity. He has published over 100 papers in top international journals and conferences, including IEEE T-IFS, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (T-MM), and ACM Multimedia (ACM MM). He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a committee member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Information Forensics and Security, and has led more than ten NSFC and provincial projects. His work has been cited over 2,400 times on Google Scholar, reflecting his significant academic impact.

Professor Changsheng Chen has long specialized in multimedia content security, image forensics, and AI security. In recent years, he has published more than 60 papers in leading international journals and conferences such as IEEE T-IFS, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (T-IP), CCS, and CVPR. He has also led General Program projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research outcomes have had significant impact in fields such as document security. Professor Chen was honored with the 2022 Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Award and the 2024 Natural Science Award of the China Society of Image and Graphics.

Professor Le Ouyang has focused on the intersection of bioinformatics and machine learning. He has published more than 80 papers in internationally renowned journals and conferences, including Nature Biotechnology, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics (T-CYB), IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (T-MI), Bioinformatics, and AAAI. He has led numerous research projects, including General Program projects funded by the NSFC, the Guangdong Distinguished Young Scholar Program, and the Shenzhen Excellent Young Investigator Program. Professor Ouyang also serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and Neural Networks, and as an Area Chair of ACM BCB.
The appointment of Professors Shunquan Tan, Changsheng Chen, and Le Ouyang to the editorial boards of prestigious international journals highlights the growing academic strength and global influence of SMBU in the frontier fields of multimedia security, AI security and forensics, and bioinformatics. These achievements inject new momentum into the international development of the university’s disciplines.
